Introducing a new friend…
In autumn 2008, Scholastic Book Fairs launched a competition in schools to find a name for the Scholastic dog.
An adventurous guide to the world of Book Fairs and beyond, the dog is a fun and friendly reading mascot for children everywhere.
We received nearly a thousand competition entries from children in the UK and Ireland, with over 400 different name suggestions. But there can only be one winner and only one name…
We’re pleased to announce that the winning name was submitted by Yemi Lapido, aged 11, from Lea Valley Primary School in north London.
Yemi was presented with his prizes – a signed piece of original artwork of the dog by artist Jenny Arthur, a digital camera and £200 worth of books for his school – on Monday 30th March 2009.
