Reading Partners

Having a Reading Partners scheme is great way to encourage reading in your school.

It works by pairing children up to share books and reading activities. Some of the benefits of the scheme include:

• A strong whole school focus on reading.
• Emphasis on fun and enjoyment.
• Support for weaker readers and extension for confident readers.
• An opportunity to involve parents more effectively in their children's reading.

If you sign up to Read Week¹ and would like to take part in the Reading Partners scheme, you will receive:

• A resource sheet with lots more ideas on how to run a Reading Partners scheme in your school.
• A copy of the Family Guide to Reading.
