Why should I log my cash payments?

• You can calculate totals easily (e.g. if multiple products are being purchased)
• Your change will be calculated automatically
• Your Online Fair Report will automatically show the total cash taken through the terminals. Therefore by logging all of your cash payments at the point of sale, it will be much easier to complete your online fair report later.
• The Rewards estimate in your Book Fair Dashboard will also update, making it easier for you to track how much your school is earning from your Fair.

Taking cash payments

You can scan books to take cash payments using any device with a camera that is connected to the internet, including tablets, phones and laptops.

To access the tool:

1. Log into your Book Fair account on the device you’re using to scan books and click into Your Fairs. If you don’t know your log in details, please contact Customer Services on 0800 212 281
2. Click into View Dashboard for the Fair you’re currently running
3. On the right hand side of your Dashboard, find the box titled Take Cash Payments and click Take me there

To use the tool:

1. Allow the webpage to access your camera.
2. Use the tool to scan the barcodes of the books your customer would like to purchase. The prices will automatically populate on the page, and you’ll be given a total.
3. If the barcode isn’t scanning, you can click the Book not scanning button below the scanner to enter the price and book title manually.
4. Enter the total amount tendered. You will then be told the amount of change to give.
5. Once you’ve taken payment, click the Payment accepted button, and your browser will reset ready to take the next cash payment.
6. The Cash Payments section of your Dashboard will contain a record of all cash payments taken during your Fair.
7. When you complete your Online Fair Report at the end of your Fair, a cash total will be suggested based on the cash payments you have taken.
